The Football World Cup is the biggest international tournament in the world. Football fans have been waiting for this event for four years. Qatar is the host country of this competition. The Middle East’s most iconic nation will host a month-long carnival with the tournament which will start in the winter of 2022.

The First Winter World Cup In The Northern Hemisphere

Qatar World Cup 2022 will be the first winter world cup ever. Qatar experiences relatively high temperatures reaching up to about 50 degrees Celsius. For this reason, arranging the world cup is quite impossible. To avoid the potential health risks of playing in such extreme heat, FIFA has decided to move from its regular summer slot to winter. All the match falls in winter, saving the players and the fans from extreme heat.

Expensive World Cup Match

As per estimates, Qatar will spend about 200 billion US dollars on infrastructure projects, including stadiums,  hotels, transportation, roads, promotional, and many more projects. For this reason, Qatar World Cup 2022 is quite expensive in the history of world cups.

Few Number Of Stadiums To Host The World Cup

Qatar prepared only eight stadiums to arrange the FIFA World Cup 2022, the lowest number of venues for a World Cup; only one has been completely renovated, while the other seven have been built from scratch.

Those eight venues for the tournament in five host cities are given below:

  1. Al Janoub Stadium in Al Wakrah (40,000 capacity)
  2. Education City Stadium in Al Rayyan (45,350 capacity)
  3. Stadium 974 in Doha (40,000 capacity)
  4. Lusail Iconic Stadium in Lusail (80,000 capacity)
  5. Khalifa International Stadium in Al Rayyan (45,416 capacity)
  6. Al Thumama Stadium in Doha (40,000 capacity)
  7. Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor (60,000 capacity)
  8. Ahmad bin Ali Stadium in Al Rayyan (44,740 capacity)

Record Number Of Visitors

Many visitors are expected to come to Qatar for the World Cup 2022. According to the experts, there are several reasons behind this record of visitors. Qatar is one of the most powerful countries in the Middle East, located right in the center of the world. Qatar is a beautiful country that people prefer to visit. Generally, it receives thousands of people from different countries during vacation, but for the 2022 World Cup tournaments, it will break the previous record of visitors.

Easy To Move Cities

As we have discussed earlier, many visitors will come to Qatar because of the FIFA World Cup. But what about moving to Qatar? Qatar is not a very big country. As the size of this country is very small, traveling from one place to another is not a big problem.

Fan Zone Provides Alcohol At a Cheap Rate

Drinking alcohol in public areas and being drunk in public is illegal in Qatar. Anyone can face a six-month prison sentence or be fined about $850. Stadiums will not sell alcohol during the matches. However, fan zones will be set up around the country, allowing fans to have a drink in a designated area at lower prices.

Centralized Air Conditioning Stadium

The temperature of Qatar is very high. It is nearly impossible to hold the match during summer; it can reach about 50 degrees Celsius. Qatar has found a solution to this problem. They will arrange the tournament in an air-conditioned stadium.

Second World Cup In Asia

World Cup, a prestigious competition, takes place for the second time in Asia. The first World Cup match occurred in 2002 when Japan and South Korea co-hosted the event for the first time in Asia.
